CYPRUS: PETRA TOU ROMIOU - APHRODITE'S ROCK
Halfway between Limassol and Paphos, just off the road, lies "Petra tou Romiou," a small cove with a pebble beach and a few rocks.
To understand this place, a little dive into Greek mythology is necessary:
do you know the legend surrounding the birth of Aphrodite, daughter of Zeus?
Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was born here from the sea foam.
Since then, the rock at the end of the beach has been called "Aphrodite's Rock."
Nowadays, young Aphrodites come to have their photos taken with the Rock in the background!
