Indeed, it is at the end of this beach that the "Club Med" of Martinique was installed... ...or at least, "was installed," because it has been closed for renovations for over a year (in 2005).

This closure, for an indefinite period, reflects the general trend of tourism in Martinique, which, after a significant "Boom" in the 1980s and 1990s, is experiencing a noticeable decline: -30% between 1998 and 2002.

Note: Club Med "Les Boucaniers" reopened in the summer of 2006 after a year and a half of renovations.
