Morne Rouge is a rather quiet town (although a "morne" is actually a small volcanic hill)!
I must say that once evening came, I had a hard time finding something to eat.
By 8 PM everything was closed; only a pizza truck came to my rescue.
As for lodging: Morne Rouge can boast of having the only youth hostel in Martinique.
In practice, it was impossible to reach anyone by phone to make a reservation.
Once there, I discovered a rather nice large building...
No one at the reception, no tourists, doors closed!
I inquired at a neighboring house; they told me there hadn't been any tourists in the last few days.
So, the receptionist had gone off on a wander!
I even tried calling him on his mobile, only to be greeted by an answering machine.
